US Secretary of State John Kerry said on Tuesday that Washington aims to provide more help to opponents of Syrian President Bashar Assad.
Kerry will meet members of the Syrian opposition in London later this week.
“We are left with no choice but to try to find ways to get [Assad] to think differently about what lies in the future,” Reuters quoted Kerry as saying at Tel Aviv Airport.
The White House will decide whether to announce any such "stepped-up efforts" to help the Syrian rebels overthrow Assad, he added.
